Narrow drives, detached garages and tree-lined streets, handled with a wheel-lift and dollies.
Call (740) 812-9489Clintonville is a residential neighborhood north of the Ohio State campus, known for older homes on tree-lined streets, narrow driveways and detached garages set back behind the house. High Street and Indianola Avenue carry most of its traffic and most of its small businesses. That layout means many of our calls here are driveway and garage jobs, where a wheel-lift truck with dollies fits far better than a long flatbed. Our trucks come up from the Harrisburg Pike yard on the southwest side and usually reach Clintonville in 20–40 minutes.

Usually 20–40 minutes. The truck heads north on State Route 315 and crosses over to High Street or Indianola Avenue near your street. Afternoon traffic on High Street is the thing most likely to slow the last mile. Share your house number and which side of the street you are on, and mention if the car is back in a detached garage so the driver can plan the approach. At night a porch light or a note on the garage helps the driver spot the right house.
Yes, and this is exactly where a wheel-lift truck with dollies earns its place. It can back down a narrow drive that a flatbed could never fit, lift the car and bring it out to the street. If the car sits too deep in the garage to reach, the driver winches it to the door first. Tell dispatch the width of the drive and anything overhead, such as low branches or wires.
We do. The coffee shops, restaurants and small lots along both corridors see plenty of cars that will not start or have the keys locked inside. A jump start with a battery test usually settles it on the spot, and the lockout tools open the door without damage. Let dispatch know the business name and whether you are in its lot or parked on the street out front. Metered spots on High Street are tight, so the driver may stop on a side street.
Both are fast, busy commuter roads with limited shoulder in places. Get the car as far right as it will go, turn on the hazards and stay buckled up in your seat unless there is somewhere truly safe to stand off the road. A car stranded in a lane is a reason to call 911 right away. Afterwards, give our dispatcher the road, direction and nearest exit so the truck can reach you.
A car parked on a public street can only be towed on the order of a police officer, so call the Columbus Division of Police non-emergency number and ask them to send someone. We are not allowed to remove it just because a resident asks. Landlords and businesses with private lots can have unauthorized vehicles removed when Ohio-required signs are posted, and we offer that private-property towing. Having the license plate and a rough time the car showed up helps the officer.
Wherever you like: a neighborhood mechanic, a dealer, a partner repair shop or back to your driveway. If you need time to line up a shop, our Harrisburg Pike lot will hold the car at the daily storage rate. The dispatcher works out the total from our rate card before anyone hooks up, and you can settle it by card or in cash. An itemized invoice is yours to keep for insurance or warranty paperwork.
