Partner shops in the Alpha Automotive network, including a long-established auto-electric specialist downtown, trace faults methodically with wiring diagrams and scan tools rather than swapping parts on a hunch.
Typical work ranges from battery and alternator replacement to parasitic-draw testing, wiring-harness repair, lighting faults, and module diagnosis. If a fault turns out to be intermittent, the shop will tell you what it needs to reproduce it before it charges you for chasing it.

Often a jump start gets you moving first: our roadside jump-start is a flat published rate, and if the car will not hold a charge we tow it to the shop from there. For a plain dead battery, the roadside crew can test it and replace it on site — battery testing is included with every jump-start call, and the battery is priced by group size and quoted from the tester reading before any work starts (see our Mobile Battery Replacement service page). Slow cranking usually points to the battery; lights that dim while driving and a battery warning light point to the alternator. The shop load-tests both before replacing either.
Repeated drain is usually a parasitic draw — something staying powered after the car is off. The shop isolates it with a milliamp draw test rather than selling you another battery.
Most alternator jobs take one to two hours once the part is in hand, though some engines bury the alternator and take longer. The shop quotes the time with the estimate.
